Barry Sheehan BL is a commercial law junior counsel and an accredited mediator based in Cork City. He provides legal services to clients of solicitors across a broad range of practice areas. He also specialises in legal services to solicitors, as a lawyers' lawyer, in the areas of legal costs, professional negligence and professional discipline.
He has been admitted as a Barrister-at-Law in Ireland (King's Inns) and is currently awaiting formal admission as a Barrister in England & Wales (Middle Temple). He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London.
Barry is former practising solicitor and was admitted in Ireland, Northern Ireland and England & Wales. He previously acted as special legal advisor to the 150th President of the Law Society of Ireland, Mr James Cahill. He served as an ordinary member of the Law Society's EU & International Affairs Committee, Guidance & Ethics Committee and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee.
